What is it?
It is a group of three plants, Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis, that can make you feel high.
When the flowers of these plants are picked and dried, they become one of the most common drugs in the world. Some people call it “weed” or “pot,” while others call it “marijuana.”
Weed is getting new names as it becomes legal in more places. More and more people use the word cannabis to mean weed these days.
Some people say that it’s a better name. Some people think it’s more neutral than words like “weed” or “pot,” which some people think of as words for illegal drugs. Also, the word “marijuana” isn’t used as much because it has a racist past.
It is usually used because it makes people feel calm and relaxed. In some countries, it’s also used to treat chronic pain, glaucoma, and a lack of appetite, among other things.
