What is Epilepsy?

If you have two unprovoked seizures or one unprovoked seizure with a high chance of more, your doctor may say you have epilepsy. This is not always the cause of a seizure. Seizures can be caused by a brain injury or a trait that runs in the family, but often the cause is unknown.

Avoid getting your brain hurt.
Reduce the chance of having a stroke or getting heart disease.
Get all of your shots on time.
To avoid getting infections like cysticercosis, wash your hands and cook food in a safe way.
